Chanced by this wedding couple during my weekend cycling to Lorong Halus Wetland. I got as excited as them, and almost wanted to join in to catch the bouquet – I wanna get hitched soon too LOL! :D
Wishing the cute couple a lifetime of happiness and bliss, congratulations! :)
Amid all the mystery and lush nature of Labrador Park which is known for its secret tunnels and pre-war relics, a new Thai fine-dining restaurant has opened in September 2012. Tamarind Hill is housed in a stand-alone colonial bungalow built in 1832 set atop a hill in Labrador Nature Reserve overlooking the sea. Part of Samadhi Retreats, it is perfectly reminiscent of the original Tamarind Hill in Kuala Lumpur, preserving the milieu of being in a stand-alone historic colonial bungalow amid a vastly green surrounding. The ambiance is unmistakably rustic-luxe right from its doorstep, and you are immediately transported to another surreal, relaxed environment once you step in the restaurant. So tranquil, so un-Singapore and so darn romantic. “I want to get married here!” That was the first thought that came to my mind. Fortunately, I had a heartthrob Ben with me, so we played hubby-and-wife for the day, haha.
Verdict: Tamarind Hill does a decent job with its interpretation of Thai fine dining, and the ambiance is amazingly tranquil, allowing you great privacy with your partner. Great for an intimate gathering with friends or a romantic night out with your other half, as this beautiful restaurant makes you feel like you’re on vacation. Taste-wise, it’s elegant (meaning not super spicy nor sour) and there are hits and misses. I’ll definitely be back to try their regular menu, and bask in the serenity of the place.
